LABRAT Rejoined By Singer ROB MCAUSLAN
July 8, 2003After one year of working with vocalists Jamie Farrell and Martin Ives, Britain's LABRAT have made the decision to part ways with the dynamic duo and recall the services of former frontman Rob McAuslan.
The decision to let Ives and Farrell go was made just before the band set off on a U.K. tour with MASTODON. "We felt that although the two undoubtedly did a great job during their time in the band, certain problems were starting to manifest themselves which led to the decision to let them go," the group said in a statement.
Rob was asked to do the tour as a stand-in vocalist, but after six devastating shows, made the decision to rejoin.
Says Rob, "Following the recent tour with MASTODON, LABRAT asked me to rejoin. After thrashing out the personal stuff and seeing people's reactions to me being onstage with the 'RAT again, I thought, 'Hell YEAH!'. We are now going to write album number two. Thanks to Jamie and Martin for doing a great job and as of today for kicking my arse into singing again. See you down the front!"
Farrell will be devoting more time to his other band A RAZOR BLADE TO SAY GOODBYE, while Ives will continue working on his label, Calculated Risk Products, as well as undisclosed musical projects.
